NATIONAL SPRINT CAR MUSEUM LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS DURING KNOXVILLE NATIONALS

KNOXVILLE, IA (July 21, 2007) - The non-profit National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum Foundation is looking for volunteers for its activities during the upcoming Knoxville Nationals, August 8-11. Amongst the museum-benefit events with volunteer openings are museum admissions, trade show, golf tourney, membership sales, auction, and sprint car raffle ticket sales. Sprint car fans willing to help the museum for a three- or four-hour shift are urged to contact volunteer coordinator Lori DeMoss toll-free at 1-800-874-4488 or ldemoss@sprintcarhof.com .



The major events are as follows:

National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum

- Open 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. everyday during the Knoxville Nationals, Featuring three different Fan Fair moderated forums each day at:
11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday
- Admission just $3 per adult, $2 per student, and $2 per senior citizen
- Annual supporting membership is just $25 per person, includes admission for 2 to museum, and 10% discount on store purchases
- Museum store features books, apparel, DVD’s, games, and much more!


Knoxville Nationals Trade Show in the 4-H Show Pavilion

- Open 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. everyday during the Knoxville Nationals
- Free admission to exhibitor area featuring team- and fan-oriented items
- See the brand-new JEI/Shaver ‘410’ state-of-the-art Sprint Car, which will be raffled to benefit the non-profit museum ($20 tickets available)

Museum’s “Members Only” VIP Reception with Doug Wolfgang

- On the museum’s second floor at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 9
- Free admission to annual supporting members ($25 memberships available)
- Interviewed by “Lone Wolf” author Dave Argabright

United Trailers National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Golf Classic

- At the Bos Landen Golf Club in nearby Pella on Friday, August 10
- Best-shot golf tourney with 8:30 a.m. shot-gun start ($80 entry fee)
- Held in memory of Kevin Gobrecht, and benefiting the museum

Museum’s Annual Knoxville Nationals Auction

- On the museum’s second floor at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 11
- Bid on unique, autographed items from the worlds of…WoO, NASCAR, IRL, NHRA, and much, much more!
- Enjoy the air-conditioned atmosphere of a live racing auction!
