RL PROMOTIONS ANNOUNCES 2007 SCHEDULE FOR SOUTHERN IOWA SPEEDWAY

OSKALOOSA, Iowa (Feb. 10) -- Officials from RL Promotions and the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, have announced a tentative schedule of events for the 2007 racing season at the Mahaska County Half-Mile Monster.

After an open practice for all classes on Wednesday, April 11, an exciting season of racing under the United States Racing Association banner will kick off on Wednesday, April 18, with the season opener for the USRA Casey’s General Stores Weekly Racing Series featuring MUSCO Lighting USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods and USRA Hobby Stocks. The 2007 season will mark the debut of the popular B-Modified class as they join the regular weekly Wednesday night line-up at Osky.

Multiple special events dot the schedule and several high-powered touring series will visit the historic clay oval throughout the year. The USRA Late Models will make their first of three stops on May 16, followed by encore shows on July 3 and Aug. 22. Another first at the Southern Iowa Speedway will see the debut of the popular Mid-America 305 Winged Sprints on May 23 and again during the Southern Iowa Fair on July 18.

MUSCO Lighting and Aaron’s Sales & Lease Ownership presents the stars of NASCAR featuring the O’Reilly USMTS Modifieds on Aug. 1 for a $2,000-to-win shootout featuring the best Modified drivers in the nation. In addition to a few to-be-announced stars of NASCAR, seven-time O'Reilly USMTS champion Kelly Shryock is expected to be among the stellar field of stars and cars as he looks to defend his crown against the likes of Tommy Myer, Brad McEwan, Al Hejna, Zack VanderBeek, Mark Noble, Dean Mahlstedt and many more of America's Modified top guns.

On Aug. 29, the Coca-Cola Season Championship for the USRA Casey’s General Stores Weekly Racing Series will wrap up the regular Wednesday night action. The 2007 season will conclude on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 14-15, with the Fall Challenge presented by MUSCO Lighting featuring USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods and USRA Hobby Stocks.
