MICHAEL ANNETT NOTCHES TOP-10 FINISH AT ASALMS CHALLENGE SERIES OPENER

DES MOINES, IA (March 6, 2007) – Hawkeye native Michael Annett had a strong performance at the ASA Late Model Challenge Series’ 2007 season opener. This event was Annett’s second career start in the ASALMS Challenge Series and he backed up his 3rd place performance last season at Iowa Speedway with yet another Top-10 finish.

The rising young talent turned fast enough laps to qualify his #12 TMC Transportation-backed Ford Fusion in the fifth place position out of the thirty-one car field. Annett had a strong run early in the race but was relegated to the end of the longest line (16th position) just shy of the halfway point of the the 200-lap, caution-filled “Quality Pre-Owned Cars and Trucks Alamo 200”. A lap car tangled with Annett’s machine and the #12 pit crew jumped into action to make temporary repairs to get them back on the track. Following that point, Annett battled a tight racecar but regained a firm standing in the top-10.

“The entire TMC Racing Team has worked really hard to put together a great car and their efforts earned us a good starting position. Starting towards the front helped us avoid some of the early mishaps that happened in the middle of the pack so I can’t thank my guys enough. The incident with the lap car hurt the drive of the car but thanks to some good repairs, we were able to finish the race and bring home a seventh place finish. So this is a good start to our 2007 ASALMS Challenge Series quest. Better yet, we had fifty guests from our TMC Transportation terminal in Laredo here to enjoy the race so it’s nice to have a good finish with all of them at the track.”

The Challenge Division, the premier tour of the ASA Late Model Series, will return to action with their second of twelve events on March 30-31, 2007, at the Music City Motorplex in Nashville, TN. The TMC Racing Team would like to thank their sponsors TMC Transportation, Marmon Highway Technologies, Pilot Travel Centers, Northland Oil, Benson International and Allstate Peterbilt.
