Corey Dripps Racing Scheduled to Start 2007 in April
By: Bucky Doren
WATERLOO, IA (Feb. 24, 2007)  - Corey Dripps Racing looks to start their
2007 season in the month of April. Once the team does get on the road, they plan
to follow the United States Modified Touring Series trail.
“We still have a couple customer cars to finish up,” explain Corey Dripps. “Once
we finish those projects, we will turn our attention to our race program. The
way it looks now, that won’t be until sometime in April.”
CDR spent most of the 2006 season building and perfecting the BC Chassis, which
Dripps designed and built. The team is looking forward to returning to a regular
routine on the USMTS trail. The only planned date that Dripps will miss is in
July when he will race out East. Dripps will be a part of a Speedway Illustrated
feature that will put him on an asphalt track. More details are coming soon on
that feature.
The all-new BC Chassis made a lot of noise at the end of the 2006 racing season.
Tommy Myer grabbed three wins in fifteen races in the BC Chassis. Dripps severed
as crew chief as the two worked on the chassis.
“If Tommy would not have rolled light across the scale in Kasson (Minnesota), I
think he would have been factor in the USMTS Championship,” Dripps stated.
“Tommy’s strong run in ‘The Hunt’ last fall with the USMTS taught us a lot,”
Dripps went onto say. “He’ll be back in one of our cars again when we hit the
road in April. Tommy will once again sport the Chrome colors he ran during ‘The
Hunt’ last year. “With both of us racing the chassis, that should really help
speed up the learning process.
The number “31” that Dripps will drive will sport some new colors in 2007. The
team is developing some new merchandise, and they hope for it to be unveiled in
late summer.
“We think people will like the change from the red cars we’ve raced the past
couple of years,” expressed Dripps.
