SEASON'S OVER: HOW ABOUT PRACTICE & A PARTY AT 24 RACEWAY THIS
SATURDAY ?
by:   Ron Lueck - 24 Raceway
MOBERLY, MO (Oct 9) - It's a party; it's a hog roast; it's practice; it's music;
yep, it's all of those and it's this Saturday afternoon and evening at 24
Raceway, Moberly, MO. One more time, the track is going to be open for practice
laps all afternoon on Saturday, October 13th from 12:30 to 6pm. It's to be for
qualified drivers of all classes with a $10 admission per person entering the
pit area. A signed release will be mandatory. This practice includes late
models, sprints and dwarf cars. General bleacher viewing is free, but the
concession stand will only be open in the pit area. The general plan is for a
couple of cars allowed on the track at a time for six laps, and then return to
the end of the line waiting to enter. All of the scheduled practices were either
rained out or colded out in Spring, so if you as a driver, feel as if you need
more seat time before next season, or even prior to some other area big race,
this is for you and your crew!
Then, to celebrate an end to another successful season, stick around for some
BBQ pig, some tunes & some beverages, the first kegs of which are courtesy of
Miller Beer's Mark Twain Distribution. Party in the pit area begins after the
practice ends with music provided. A $5 donation going towards the two hogs
being purchased and prepared would be the requested price. Weather promises to
be good, and a bonfire is probably in order. Enjoy the companionship and company
of those who have an affection for racing, one more time before the January
awards banquet. It all happens this Saturday just three miles east of Moberly at
24 Raceway where it's "Dirt Track Racing at its Best" on the half mile dirt
oval, (but racing's actually not 'til next April).
