Turner Nabs LebanonMidway Fast Factory 50

LEBANON, MO (April 21) - Hard Charging veteran Eric Turner took command from defending Fast Factory 50 champion Todd Cook on lap 14 and survived several late race challanges to grab the 2nd annual Fast Factory 50 collecting the $5,000 1st place prize money over a star-sudded field Sat Night.

The field of 26 took the Grren with Cook jumping to the lead from his pole position with Jordan Holloway in tow for the opening 4 laps. The 1st caution waved on lap 5 as 3rd place running Robbie Bryant and Jim Turpin spun.

On the restart Cook and Holloway battled as Joe Miller and Turner battled for position with Turner taking the spot on lap 7 while Craig Mentz and Robert Brown were charging for there 14th and 18th starting spots to move into the top 10.A couple of quick cautions waved for single car spins before action picked- back up on lap 11 as Cook,Turner,Holloway,Mentz and Brown had worked into the Top 5 and were coming quickly.On lap 14,Turner moved his Metric Monte Carlo around the smooth driving Cook to take control as Robert Brown had moved around Mentz as Tim Brown recovering from an earlier Spin had came from the 24th spot to now move into 6th around Richie Tosh.The yellow waved as Tosh came to a halt in turn 2 bringing out the yellow.On the restart,Turner and Cook continued this battle as Holloway was close behind running 3rd as Robert Brown had now moved into 4th and was closing quickly.The race now took a long green flag run.During this long run several positions were being swapped as Turner was slicing through the field lapping several top runners.As the race hit the 35 lap mark,Turner was still setting a fast pace followed by Cook,Holloway,Robert Brown and Tim Brown with the top 5.Lap 39 ended Robert Brown's night with overheating problems as the running order stood Turner,Cook,Holloway,Tim Brown and Chris Ratterree.

On lap 42,the caution waved for debris as 7 cars remained on the led lap including Turner,Cook,Holloway,Tim Brown,Chris Ratterree,Craig Mentz and Ted Welschmeyer who had started 21st.

On the double file restart,Cook tried a low line move which didn't work as he spun in turn 3 ending his night.

On the restart,Holloway looked inside of Turner,but Turner held the groove strong as Tim Brown and Holloway battled for 2nd place.THe duo made contact on the backstretch battling as Brown grabbed 2nd with Holloway holding 3rd as Chris Ratterree and Craig Mentz fought for 4th.A couple of late cautions kept Brown close to Turner,but on the final 2 laps,Turner pulled away to grab the win followed by Tim Brown,Holloway,Chris Ratterree,Craig Mentz,Ted Welschmeyer all on the lead lap.Chad Smith,Luke Nieman,Bobby Ratterree,and Larry Pruitt completed the top 10 as 15 cars of the starting 26 were running at the end.

In other Action,The Show-Me Racin Series LateModels saw former IMCA National LateModel Champion Justin Wells grab the lead from pole setter Darrin Barton and set a fast pace as current point leader Leslie Essary was charging from deep in the field.While Wells was quick out in front,Leslie was picking up spots back and forth.A late Race caution bunched up the field as Wells was finding Essary close behind.Heading for the white flag,lapped traffic was right in front of the leaders as Wells shot to the outside with Leslie Essary diving down low but falling 1/2 a car length short at the line followed by Ken Essary,Rick Lebow and Jeremy Kelley in the top 5 over the 22 car field.

The Missouri Dirt Legends made there first apperance of the season with a wild start as Tyler Cott went over in the air in turn 3 bringing out the red.On the restart,Park Jones took the early lead with Tony Hatfield close behind.The feature start green until lap 13 when Ron Hoffman came to a halt in turn 2.On the restart,Jones and Hatfield were battling hard as Justin Comer and Paul Horton were charging hard after being involved in the opening incident.On lap 18,Hatfield took the spot from Jones as Jones made a bobble and then left with a flat tire.Hatfield then held off Comer for the win with Horton charging to 3rd.

Friday Night action saw Mike Piercey grab the lead early and record the Bomber feature over Joe Francis and in SuperStock action Donnie Gennings went wire to wire to grab the win.
