SCHOOL BUS RACING ENTRIES ROLLING IN TO HAWKEYE DOWNS

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (July 25) - Some veteran “bus race drivers are expected to be joined by some new faces as Hawkeye Downs Officials receive entry information for this Friday night’s School Bus Races on the quarter-mile asphalt of Hawkeye Downs Speedway.

The event is part of Friday night’s regular racing program, which is sponsored by Hawkeye International Trucks.

Early entries in the bus driver ranks include Mark Hauder, Sonny Parker, Arlo Becker, Johnny Spaw, Dave McCalla, and Dave Coghlan, SR.

Several other buses are expected but drivers for those entries haven’t been named yet.

In addition to the School Bus Races, the Budweiser Sportsmen, Barron Motor Supply IMCA Stock Cars, Barron Motor Supply IMCA Hobby Stocks, Sunline Hornets, and IMCA Sportmods will be action battling for points in the Papa Johns Cup/I- Wireless Championship.

Grandstand Gates open and Practice begins at 6pm with Racing at 7pm. Children (0-11) are $1.00; Students (12-17) are $7.00; Adults (18-61) are $10.00; and
Senior Citizens (62+) are admitted for $7.00.
