 ANNUAL BANQUET INFO

MOBERLY, MO (Dec 6) - Once more, the 2007 season Awards Banquet for 24 Raceway's season is set for the Saturday evening of the 12th of January, 2008 at the Moberly Municipal Auditorium in downtown Moberly, Missouri at Rollins & Clark. A happy hour / social gathering will kick off the night at 5pm with cash bar available. Dinner is being catered by Kre'ative Katering of Moberly and served at 6pm. Awards will follow at 7pm. After that, one of Dave Holder's team of mechanics, Mr. 'Heavy Duty', will entertain the crowd with his band known as "Hindsight" from 8 to 11pm. If you've wondered if that big man from the pit area who's performed the National Anthem, does any professional singing, come and check out the band of he sings with. And they play songs you'll all recogize. Drawings for the many door prizes from various sponsors will also take place during the early part of the evening.

Awards for top finishers in the five classes, racing regularly at 24 Raceway consisting of: A-modified, B-modified, Sportsman, Hobby Stock, and the 4 cyl. Hornets will take place following the dinner. Individual nominations have been requested and will be voted on in the following four categories of: 1) Most Improved Driver 2) Hard-luck Award 3) Sportsmanship Award and 4) Most Valuable Pit Person. Admission for the banquet and dance is $25 per person in advance, with a form for mailing the payment available on line at www.24racewayinmoberly.com . Payment and reservation form goes to 24 Raceway, PO Box 553, Moberly, MO 65270. Based on the past attendance figures, preparations for around 250 to 275 are being made. Memberships for the upcoming 2008 season, along with reservations for the 60 concrete pad rentals, can be paid either by mail or at the banquet. The website now has posted the new rules for the B-modified class on the Forum section of the website, with the new 360 cubic inch limit, along with the revised Hobby Stock rules. And the same site of www.24racewayinmoberly.com will soon have the other rules revisions for the remaining three classes on there too, also under the Forum.

This coming season, practice sessions are scheduled for the weekend afternoons of March 29 and 30, weather permitting, and track conditions being race ready. Several specials have already been booked for this year, including three W.O.W. 360 Sprint races, along with the return of the Late Models of the MLRA, likely in mid-summer, and the mid-Missouri ULMA group early in the 2008 season. An initial draft of the upcoming 2008 schedule will be available before the banquet, but there's still room available to include several businesses in sponsoring of these events.
