LEBANON, MO (May 11) - The 2007 Chase for the season championship started Friday Night at the LebanonMidwaySpeedway as overcast skies turned to a cool night of hot racing as over 90 raceteams checked-in.

The SuperStock class feature would find last seasons Rookie of the year Travis Hill bring the field down for the Green to lead the opening laps with Bill Joiner close behind as Larry Pruitt jumped from his 6th starting to grab the runner-up spot on lap 4 as Hill was setting the pace on the smooth surface.The 1st caution waved on lap 6 as Bradley McDowell,Aaron Fredrick,Bill Joiner,Rick Hill and Bennie Joiner got together in turn 2.On the restart Hill was in command until lap 9 when Pruitt pulled to the bottom of the track finding a good groove with Hill running the top side.Pruitt and Hill would run a side by side battle with Pruitt grabbing his 1st ever Midway Win followed closely by Hill,defending track champion Ben Newell,Clinton Betts and McDowell in the top 5.

The WingedSprint Car feature kept the fans on the edge of there seat as Joe Todd jumped from his pole position to grab the early lead with JP Compton and John Rowland close behind.Lap 2 would see Rowland and Todd swap slide jobs as Rowland took control only to see Joe Todd grab the lead back on lap 3.The trio stayed close as a second pack battled behind including Eric Todd,Clint Todd,Matt Tatro and Scott Wedelstadt and Mike Williams battling.With laps winding down,JP Compton made a move around Rowland to grab 2nd place on lap 17 and begin to apply heavy pressure on the leader Todd.On lap 18 Compton pulled a slide job on Todd and the battle for the top spot was on as the duo touched in turn 2 with Compton grabbing the lead only to see the yellow come out taking Todd back to the front.On the last lap shootout,Compton shot to the outside as John Rowland was looking outside to battle.As the trio battled to the checkered flag,Joe Todd would hang on to grab his 1st win of the season followed closely by Compton,Eric Todd,Matt Tatro and Mike Williams at the stripe.Rowland would fall back as he slid to the wall,but kept the car from hitting and fell back to 8th.

The A-Mod feature would see Craig Wood jump from his 3rd starting spot to lead the opening laps with Eric Hudson battling for position until lap 5 when he spun in turn 2.On the restart Wood jumped to a big lead as Scotty Allen challanged for the top spot as Hudson was charging back to the front.On lap 8,Jimmy Willis and Hudson was battling as they closed in on leader Wood with Hudson grabbing the lead on lap 9 and held off repeated challanges from the early lead Wood to grab the win with Wood,Chris Johnson,Willis and Brian Brown in the top 5.

The FactoryStock feature would have Troy White jumpping out to the lead and holding off repeated charges from Dylan Keeper and a late charge from Kris Jackson to grab the top honors as Jackson made a late charge to grab 2nd place followed by Keeper,Bob Gustin,and Bobby Ratterree at the stripe in a very tight feature event.

Mike Piercey overtook leader Billy Waters on lap 4 and held off a late race surge from defending champion Shawn Winfrey in the last 2 laps to grab his 3rd win of the season as Piercey's undefeated streak continues at Midway.Opening race leader Chad Cromer,Jack Hamer and early Waters would complete the top 5.

The BMod feature had a great opening battle between Colt Cheevers,Josh Woody and Jason Otto until Cheevers pulled away on lap 6 with Woody and Otto battling back and forth.t the strip Cheevers grabbed the 1st ever BMod feature with Woody,Otto,Donnie Gennings and Troy Young completing the top 5.

The Missouri Legends 20 lap feature would see a caution free event with Tony Hatfield grabbing the opening lead from his pole spot with Park Jones working the top groove to take control on lap 2.From there Jones would hold off a late race surge from Ron Hoffman to grab his 2nd Legends feature event of the season.Hoffman and Hatfield swapped spots late in the race but Hoffman would grab the runner-up spot as Hatfield,Chuck Comer and Tony Jessen completed the top 5.

Next week the Speedway will host double points night with action in the SuperStocks,FactoryStocks,WingedSprints,Bombers,AMods and BMods with Racing starting at 8PM.
