VANDERBEEK ENDS THE NIGHT WITH A BANG TAKING THE $2000 PAYDAY

OSKALOOSA, IA  (July 4) -  The 14th Annual Greiner Buildings Stock Car Shootout was held on Wednesday night July 4th with Zack VanderBeek taking the Musco Lighting USRA A-Modified feature with Brett Moffitt in the B-mods.

The USRA hobby stock feature went to Bill Gibson and the main event went to Vanderbeek again taking the second win of the night capping off a outstanding performance going out with a bang and taking the $2000 in the 14th Annual Stock Car Shootout checkers.

In the USRA hobby stock feature Bill Gibson and Rick Landgrebe lead the field to the green flag with Gibson taking the lead and holding off the field and several challenges from Wade Francis along with Jason McDaniel and Landgrebe. Francis and Gibson exchanged the lead but Gibson took the lead back on lap fifteen and took the checkers on lap twenty. McDaniel took the runner-up spot followed by Landgrebe in third and Don Nunnikhoven racing his way from 18th to finish fourth.

The main event was the 25 lap Greiner Building USRA Stock Car Shootout and it was a all out shootout for the lead with three wide racing for much of the race. Matt Greiner, Brad Pinkerton, Nathan Wood, Pat Rachels and Zack Vanderbeek all mixed it up for the lead. The trio of Pinkerton,Greiner and Vanderbeek would thrill the crowd with three wide action for twelve straight laps before Vanderbeek would take the lead and hold on for the win the final four laps for the nice payday.AJ Johnson of Osky would race his way from 9th to finish second with Greiner in the third spot and last years winner Rachels taking fourth.

Next weeks action will feature the Oskaloosa Chamber of Commerce Night with the Casey`s General Stores USRA Weekly Racing Series with all four classes in action with hot laps at 7:15pm and racing action to follow.
