Boston Soars to ASCS Shootout Win at Eagle

EAGLE, Neb. (July 21, 2007) – Mike Boston bolted to his second American Sprint Car Series Regional win of the year by wiring the field in Saturday night's 25-lap ASCS Northern Plains vs. Midwest Region "North vs. South Sprint Shootout" feature event at Eagle Raceway.

After the initial pair of starts were waved off, Boston took off from the pole position and paced the field throughout aboard the Eckley Racing Engines No. 51 Maxim.

"I have to thank my son Jordan, he drew number three for the heat and number one for the dash and put us in great position to win," Boston explained in victory lane.

Jeff Lowery raced from the fourth row into second by the fourth round and held the runner-up position to the line, with Jay Russell taking the show position.

Chuck Swenson crossed the stripe fourth, with Lee Grosz recovering from an opening lap spin to round out the top five and maintain a narrow two-point lead over Swenson in the ASCS Northern Plains championship points race.

Tige Jensen was sixth, with 17th-starter Toby Chapman, Terry Holliman, Frank Galusha and current ASCS Midwest Region points leader Natalie Sather completing the top ten. Sather bounced back from an opening lap incident as well to preserve an 86-point lead over Chapman in ASCS Midwest Region points.

Trevor Grossenbacher, Terry Holliman, Boston and Gage Dorr topped heat race action for the 30-car field, with Chapman winning the "B" Main.
