Leslie Essary Takes the Show-Me Win

MONETT, MO (May 27) - Sunday May 27 the Race Brothers Show-Me late models were at the Monett Speedway. The A-main would consist of twelve Show-Me late models and twelve open late models. Four heat races would allow the top eight in passing points to transfer into the A-main.


Leslie Essary in the 5e took the top spot in heat one. The 77 of Roger Wilson took heat two. The 11 of Jarrod Hilton came away with the win in heat three. The fourth and final Show-Me heat was won by Kevin Henson in the 15.


Two B-features would determine the last four transfer positions. Fourteen cars were left to battle it out for the top two spots in the two B-features. The 13 of Kevin Patrick and the 56 of Conner Ward came away with the two transfer positions in B number one. Ken Essary in the 55 and the 00 of Jim Fulp took the top two spots in the second B-feature.
A coin toss determined the Show-Me late models would line-up on the inside row. The 5e of Leslie Essary started pole with the 77 of Roger Wilson right behind him. The green dropped and Leslie jumped out to a quick lead. Essary was pulling away from the pack of cars until he hit lap traffic. The 42 of Brandon McCormick in an open car came and took the lead away. The race had no cautions and McCormick came away with the open win and Leslie Essary came away with the Show-Me victory. The top five Show-Me cars were Leslie Essary in the 5e, Roger Wilson in the 77, the 83 of Chick Comer, the 15 of Kevin Henson, and Ken Essary in the 55. The combined top five finish was; the 42 of Brandon McCormick, the 5e of Leslie Essary, the 11e of Shane Essary, the 02 of Dustin Mooneyham, and the 35 of Chris Coats. 

 

The Race Brothers Show-Me Racin Series will have a couple of weeks off before jumping back into action for a double-header weekend on June 15 at Lebanon Midway Speedway on June 16 at Nevada Raceway.
