SEVEN DIVISIONS IN ACTION PLUS HOCHSTSETLER TOWING BIKE 
GIVEAWAY THIS FRIDAY NIGHT AT HAWKEYE DOWNS

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (July 17) - The quest for Papa Johns Cup/I Wireless 
Championship points continues this Friday night at ASA Sanctioned Hawkeye Downs
Speedway with seven divisions of exciting racing.
Hochstetler Towing, “Official Towing Service of Hawkeye Downs Speedway” presents 
the racing action as well as providing bikes for their 
annual Bike Giveaway. Several lucky boys and girls will take home bikes during 
the course of the evening.
On the track the Budweiser Sportsmen, Miller Time Modifieds, Barron Motor Supply 
IMCA Stock Cars, Barron Motor Supply IMCA Hobby Stocks, Sunline Hornets, IMCA 
Sportmods and Go Karts will all be in action.
Most of the point races remain wide open with several weeks left in the season.
In Budweiser Sportsmen, Dave McCalla’s win streak was halted last week but he 
still holds a five-point lead over Andy Duggan. Bob Ahrendsen is in 
third place but is 23 points behind the leader.
The Miller Time Modifieds division is one of two divisions with just one point 
separating first and second place. Defending champ Time Plummer holds 
a one point edge over Chad Willett with Arlo Becker holding down the third spot, 
six points behind Plummer.
Bob Ahrendsen holds a sizable lead in the Barron Motor Supply IMCA Stock Cars 
riding an eight point cushion over Kurt Bohnsack. Randy Filling is 
nine points behind Filling in third.
Time Dains continues to lead the Barron Motor Supply IMCA Hobby Stocks with last 
week’s winner, Dennis Klinsky, five points behind. Rodney Grother is eight 
points off the pace in third.
The other Hawkeye Downs division with an extremely tight point race is the 
Sunline Hornets. Brian Beaty has just a one point advantage over Shaun 
Myers at the top of the chart. Brad Chandler is in third.
Tony Olson leads the way in the IMCA Sportmods maintaining a three point lead 
over Arnie Reif and a four point edge over Ryan Luedtke.
Grandstand Gates open and Practice begins at 6pm with Racing at 7pm. Children 
(0-11) are $1.00; Students (12-17) are $7.00; Adults (18-61) are 
$10.00; and Senior Citizens (62+) are admitted for $7.00.
