Independence Motor Speedway car show and practice rescheduled
for April 14
INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (April 4) - Excessive rainfall and freezing temperatures have
forced officials at Independence Motor Speedway to postpone the annual car show
and practice session. Originally scheduled for this Saturday, both events are
now planned for Saturday, April 14.
The annual car show will be held in the parking lots of Independence
Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge and Pinicon Ford on 1st Street in Independence. Registration
for the annual event will begin at 8 a.m. followed by the show from 9-12 noon.
Following the car show, a pre-season practice session will be held at
Independence Motor Speedway. Gates will open at 1 p.m. with practice scheduled
for 2-5. Pit passes will be $10 each. Drivers who display their cars at the car
show will be given a free pit pass for the test-and-tune. There will be no
charge to enter the grandstands and coolers are welcome.
