Climate Seal Insulation Indee Open Series to offer progressive purse in 2007

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (March 22, 2007) - Bonus money will still be offered in the Climate Seal Insulation Indee Open Series in 2007, but it will be up-for-grabs in a different format.

After offering series regulars a chance to double their money on championship night in recent years, those drivers will have the chance to pad their pockets a little more this season. Drivers in the late model and modified divisions will have the opportunity to earn three-and-a-half times the regular winner’s share during the Wednesday, August 15, series finale.

Each of the first six races of the seven-race series offers $2,000-to-win in the late model division, but increased attendance throughout those six events could result in a $7,000 payday on championship night via a progressive purse being introduced this season. Drivers competing in one or two of the seven series dates will race for $2,000 on August 15, while each additional appearance will give them the chance to race for $1,000 more.

Late model drivers who will have competed in three series races will run for $3,000-to-win in the finale, $4,000 for those who compete in four races, $5,000 for five races and $6,000 for six races. Drivers with perfect attendance over the seven nights will be competing for $7,000-to-win on August 15.

The scenario is similar in the modified division. The normal winner’s share of $700 will be offered on championship night for those appearing in one or two series events. Modified drivers who will have competed in three series races will run for $1,050-to-win in the finale, $1,400 for those who compete in four races, $1,750 for five races and $2,100 for six races. Drivers with perfect attendance over the seven nights will be competing for $2,500-to-win on August 15.

The Climate Seal Insulation Indee Open Series is scheduled to kick off its 2007 campaign on Wednesday, May 2, at Independence Motor Speedway. The series will then rotate between the 3/8-mile oval in Independence and the 3/8-mile Fayette County Raceway in West Union.

Other Independence series dates include Wednesday, June 6 and Wednesday, July 28, on opening night of the Buchanan County Fair. Race dates for West Union will include Tuesday, May 22 and Wednesday, June 27, along with the annual Fayette County Fair event on Tuesday, July 24.

The series is set to conclude with the annual Indee Open Series Finale on Wednesday, August 15, in Independence.

In addition to late models and modifieds, three other divisions are scheduled to make appearances at series events. Stock cars are scheduled to compete at all three West Union dates, along with the July 18 series race in Independence and the August 15 finale. B modifieds will also be on-hand for all three events in West Union, along with the June 6 race in Independence and the August 15 finale. The hobby stocks will be making their lone series appearance in the series opener on May 2 at Independence.

Any stock car driver who attends all five series dates will race for $600-to-win on championship night. Likewise, B modified drivers with perfect attendance in their five series events will also race for bonus money, $350-to-win in the finale.
