C.A.R.S. WRS To Run Weekly at Fayette County Speedway
By Richie Miller

DuQUOIN, IL (Jan. 27, 2007) - The Crate American Racing Series (C.A.R.S.) looks to help breath new life in to the Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, IL for the 2007 season. Coming off a very successful first season, the C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series continues to grow and become one of the most talked about series of late. The Fayette County Speedway is the latest track to join the C.A.R.S. WRS as this should prove to be a successful venture for both. The response from local race teams and fans has been phenomenal and many are exited at the chance to race weekly at Fayette County Speedway on Sundays.

"With Fayette County Speedway being located between three other C.A.R.S. Sanctioned tracks, Macon Speedway, Mt.Vernon Raceway & Tri-City Speedway and the fact that we will be racing on Sundays, I think it is a no-brainer that we will have good car counts & good racing!" says C.A.R.S. WRS Series Director and newly named Fayette County Speedway Promoter, Sean Franklin. "With all the support we have received lately and the momentum that we carry, we are going to keep on pushing and make this the best that we can for everyone".

Fayette County Speedway is a high-banked quarter-mile dirt track located just off Interstate 70 in Brownstown, IL. The Fayette County Speedway will race weekly on Sundays during the 2007 season. A Test and Tune session for all classes will be held on Sunday, April 1, with Sunday, April 15 being opening night of competition. The Fayette County Speedway website will be updated with all the 2007 season information in the very near future. You can visit the website at www.fayettecountyspeedway.com  for more information.

The C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series features economical engines produced by GM Performance and sealed at the factory to prevent tampering. There are two different engine combinations approved for competition in the C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series, the steel-head "602" engine that sells for around $3,000 and the aluminum-head "604" engine that sells for around $5,000. These engines are race-ready right out of the crate from the factory.
