USRA LATE MODELS MOVE BLOOMFIELD DATE TO AUG. 24,
CREATES THREE-RACE SEASON FINALE

By: Jeff Nun

BLOOMFIELD, Iowa (April 3) -- Officials from the United States Racing Association (USRA) have announced that the previously scheduled season opener for the newly-created USRA Late Models has been changed. Originally slated for April 20 at the Mountain Dew Bloomfield (Iowa) Speedway, the $3,000-to-win inaugural event for the USRA Late Models will now be hosted at the Pepsi Scotland County Speedway in Memphis, Mo., on Saturday, April 28.

The Bloomfield show has been moved to Friday, Aug. 24, thus creating an exciting four-day, three-race season finale for the high-powered USRA Late Models. The USRA Late Models will compete at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, on Wednesday, Aug. 22, before returning to the Mountain Dew Bloomfield Speedway for the third time on Friday. On Saturday, Aug. 25, the freshman season for the USRA Late Models will end the season where it started at the Pepsi Scotland County Speedway.

All three events will pay $3,000 and will culminate with the crowning of the first-ever USRA Late Model national champion.

The 2007 season will mark the first time that the high-powered Late Model division will compete under the USRA banner. All headline events will carry a top prize of $3,000 to win, while events co-headlined by the popular O’Reilly USMTS Modifieds will pay $2,000 to win for both the USRA Late Models and the O’Reilly USMTS Modifieds.

For more information, call the USRA headquarters at (515) 832-6000 or visit the USRA online at www.usraracing.com.
