World of Outlaw Stars set to Invade QC Big Names will battle on the quarter-mile

MAQUOKETA, Iowa (April 24, 2007) - When the stars of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series come to the Davenport Speedway May 9th, there will be many familiar faces in the pit area.

World of Outlaw stars Shane Clanton, Chub Frank, Steve Francis, Rick Eckert, Clint Smith, and Josh Richards are expected to be on hand when the big boys take on the Davenport quarter-mile oval for the first time. Francis has tasted victory at Davenport before, winning the HAV-A-TAMPA late model event on the half-mile track, in the year 2000.

Race fans should also be on the lookout for the killer "B's", Shannon Babb of Moweaqua, Ill., and Iowa native Brian Birkhofer. Babb has been on a terror since dominating the UMP Summer Nationals tour last year and is the current WoO LMS point leader. Birkhofer has been a mainstay at Davenport in recent years, winning WDRL shows and the UDTRA event back in 2002.

Other WoO LMS drivers who can be expected for the Davenport event include Rookie of the Year contenders Tim Fuller of Watertown, N.Y., and Adam Hensel of Barron, Wis.

Davenport is the first stop on the WoO LMS Monster Midwest Tour. Five races, in five states, over ten days, with $47,000 in first-place prize money available.
