34 Raceway to host 17th annual Late Model Nationals Sept. 12 and 13.

BURLINGTON, IA (Sept 8) - For the seventeenth straight year, 34 Raceway, located 4 miles west of West Burlington, Iowa, will host their annual J & J Steel/Ideal Ready Mix Pepsi USA Late Model Nationals this Friday and Saturday, Sept 12 and 13. The best in IMCA Late model racers, in the final stop for the IMCA Deery Brother Summer Series, will take to the track both nights. Fridayıs action will include some of the best qualifying heats youıll ever see and time trials for the shot at the 100 lap $10,000 to win late model feature on Saturday. You also wonıt want to miss the J & J Steel Iron Man Challenge on Friday night as the drivers with perfect attendance for the 2008 Deery Brothers Summer Series competes in a race of their own.
Jeremy Grady came away with the win in 2007 and collected the $5,000 prize.

Also competing on Friday will be the 4th of 5 Ideal Ready Mix, Louisa Communication, I-Wireless 4 cylinder Dash For Cash Series races. The series is a close one in the points race with six points separating the top five.

Then come back on Saturday night to see the final qualifying for the late models as drivers get one last chance for their spot in the 26 car 100 lap feature. Also running on Saturday will be the hobby stocks and IMCA modifieds in a sanctioned event. This is a great chance for hobby stockers to test out the 3/8 mile as they prepare for the 2nd annual Hobby Stock and IMCA Stock Car Nationals Sept. 20.

In 2007 sixty late models competed for the $10,000 prize with Quincyıs Mark Burgtorf becoming the first back to back winner of the ³nationals² as well as the first to win the race in the trackıs sixteen year history.

Pit gates open at 4:30, grandstand gates open at 5:00 both nights.
