Ritterbusch, Tibben, Hardisty and Helvie Score Season Opener Wins At Adams County Speedway

CORNING, Ia (April 22, 2006) - The 2006 NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series season at the Adams County Speedway is now underway.  Karl Ritterbusch, Jeremy Tibben, Tony Hardisty and Les Helvie all captured feature wins.  And on night when the track welcomed Northland Oil as the new sponsor of the pro street class, it was fitting that all four winners use Northland Oil.

Jeremy Swanson assumed early command of the NAPA hobby stock feature and kept the pack at bay until Jim Tull charged into the lead.  Tull commanded the field through a few cautions and late in the going had his teammate, Ryan Vicker, charge to the inside to make a bid for the lead.  As those two battled, Les Helvie saw an opening around the outside and bested them both off the high side to take the lead for the last couple of laps to score the win.  Helvie was followed at the stripe by Tull, Vicker, Matt Hudson, and Gerald Snyder.

Tony Hardisty jumped from his third starting position to control the entire Northland Oil pro street feature.  As Hardisty kept a comfortable lead, Dave Schafroth fought off the rest of the pack for second.  Late in the race, Mike Garner moved into second but with a lack of time and no caution to help, could not see if he had anything for Hardisty.  Hardisty and Garner were chased to the checkered by Schafroth, Joe Zadina and Ed Hamilton.

Randy Foote outgunned Jeremy Tibben to get the early lead in the Budweiser modified feature.  Tibben was not done, yet, as he moved to the low line and charged into the lead.  Once there, Tibben had to hold off Kirby Stiens and Brian Foote with Foote getting the lead away from Tibben a few times.  But Tibben was not to be denied his first career feature win as he pulled back ahead to capture the checkered.  Brian Foote came home second, followed by Dan Mueller, Stiens, and Randy Foote.

The Dodge late model feature saw Todd McKee take early command.  He was chased by Karl Ritterbusch and Joe Kosiski with Ed Kosiski joining the fight at the front by mid-race.  With McKee testing different lines as the leader, Ritterbusch and the Kosiski brothers swapped lanes and positions to see who could take the first shot at getting the lead from McKee.  That battle was won by Ritterbusch as he was able to shake the Kosiski’s long enough to catch McKee and move into the lead.  Ritterbusch remained in control to capture the feature win with McKee able to remain second ahead of Joe Kosiski, Ed Kosiski, and Scott Koskovich.
