Kosiski, Carlson, Miller and Vicker get Adams County Speedway wins

CORNING, IA (July 1, 2006) - The half way point of the season has been reached for the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series at the Adams County Speedway. While the action on the track provided some great racing action, tech inspections provided two of the four winners for the night. Joe Kosiski, Jerry Carlson, Greg Miller and Ryan Vicker were victorious.

The NAPA hobby stock feature saw Jerry Parker and Jeremy Swanson lead the pack in the early stages with Parker never relinquishing the lead. Ryan Vicker and Jim Tull worked through the pack to challenge with Vicker putting heavy pressure on Parker for the lead. Parker crossed the line first, but he and fourth place finishing Swanson failed a post race inspection with illegal rear end parts. Vicker was awarded the win with Tull, Glenn Orr, Jason Parker and Les Helvie rounding out the top five.

Mike Garner shot to the early lead in the Northland Oil pro street feature and appeared to have the field covered until a caution put Greg Miller on his bumper for the restart. Miller had the car it took to get the lead away from Garner and went on to his second win of the season. Miller and Garner were followed at the finish by Ron Ballinger, Rick Pitzer and Scott Bond.

Richard Spriggs pulled out to the early lead in the Budweiser modified feature. Ryan Peckham found his groove and moved around Spriggs to take over the top spot. Peckham held the spot until 12th starting Jerry Carlson moved up and blasted into the lead. Carlson was not to be challenged as he went on to record his third win of the season ahead of Russell Stewart, Jesse Dennis, Ryan Peckham and Kirby Stiens.

Troy McKee and Josh Most battled for the early lead in the Dodge late model feature with Most getting the upper hand. Most then fought off the challenge of Trent Jackson to maintain the lead. Joe Kosiski worked through the field to take the lead from Most, then built up a sizeable lead before Paul Glendenning and Todd McKee got into second and third and then reeled in Kosiski. With a few laps to go and lapped traffic ahead, Kosiski dove low to lap a car and got loose, allowing Glendenning the opening he needed to roll around the outside and take the lead. Glendenning took the checkered, but in post race inspection would not allow further inspection of his ignition system and was disqualified. Kosiski took the win ahead of Todd McKee, Most, Chris Spieker and Karl Ritterbusch.
