Goldsmith, Carlson, Garner and Vannausdle score Adams County Speedway wins

CORNING, IA. (July 29, 2006) - There was lots of on track action as the Coca Cola kid’s bike races ran along with the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series at the Adams County Speedway. The Chase for the Championship is set and ready to go with 6 weeks remaining and Joe Kosiski, Dan Mueller, Mike Garner and Matt Hudson lead their respective classes. Bryant Goldsmith picked up his first career ACS win, Jerry Carlson notched his fourth win of the season, and Mike Garner and Chris Vannausdle recorded their first wins of the season.

Ryan Vicker started out with the lead in the Dodge late model feature but it didn’t take long for Joe Kosiski and Bryant Goldsmith to work up and take over the top two spots. Once in front, Kosiski ran the top side of the track with Goldsmith driving hard into the bottom of the corners to challenge for the lead. Lap after lap, the pair ran side by side with Goldsmith finally securing the top spot as Kosiski had to briefly lift for a lapped car. A late race restart put Kosiski and Chris Spieker on Goldsmith’s bumper, but that meant nothing as Goldsmith pulled away to score his first win of his career. Kosiski, Karl Ritterbusch, Spieker and Todd McKee rounded out the top five.

Jesse Dennis took early command of the Budweiser modified feature and opened a comfortable lead. As the pack behind Dennis swapped spots to see who would be his first challenger, Jerry Carlson emerged. Carlson was too much for anyone to handle as he took the lead just past the halfway point and sped off to his fourth win of the season with Dan Mueller, Ryan Peckham, Dennis and Russell Stewart rounding out the top five.

Steve Churchill jumped to the early lead in the Northland Oil pro street feature with Joe Zadina and Mike Garner battling it out for second. Garner was finally able to secure the spot and began pressuring Churchill for the lead. With only three laps left, Garner was able to squeeze by and into a lead he would not give up for his first win of the season. Churchill, Rick Pitzer, Joe Zadina and Greg Miller rounded out the top five.

Matt Williamson shot into the early lead of the NAPA hobby stock feature with Brit Pellman and Chris Vannausdle battling for second. Williamson held the lead until lap 12 when Vannausdle was able to find just enough daylight to make the pass for the lead. Vannausdle pulled away from there for his first win of the season with Williamson, Matt Hudson, Les Helvie and Brit Pellman rounding out the top five.
