Kosiski, Carlson, Ballinger, Tull and Vicker Take Home the Trophies at Adams County Speedway

CORNING, IA. (Aug. 5, 2006) - It was the opening night of the Chase for the Championship for the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series at the Adams County Speedway. Joe Kosiski, Jerry Carlson, Ron Ballinger and Jim Tull all added to their win totals for the season in feature competition and Ryan Vicker was crowned King of the Hill in the NAPA hobby stocks.

Josh Most shot out of his fourth starting spot to lead the first laps of the Dodge late model feature. By lap 10, Joe Kosiski had worked up to take the top spot away and put a lot of distance between himself and the rest of the field until a caution slowed the field with only three laps remaining. Kosiski was easily able to pull back away to record his second win of the season. Chris Spieker and Bryant Goldsmith used the late caution to get by Most for second and third with Most and Corey Zeitner rounding out the top five.

Todd Van Eaton out-gunned Ryan Peckham to grab the early lead in the Budweiser modified feature. Jerry Carlson came up from his sixth starting spot to grab the lead on lap 11 and a lap later, contact from Peckham sent Van Eaton spinning to the infield. On the restart, Chris Hogan started putting pressure on Carlson and hounded him the rest of the way, but Carlson held on for his fifth win of the season with Hogan, Brian Foote, Randy Foote and Kirby Stiens rounding out the top five.

Dave Schafroth led the first lap of the Northland Oil pro street feature before Ron Ballinger grabbed it away. Shortly before the halfway point, Tony Hardisty and Mike Garner came to the first and second spots and began a fierce battle for the lead. Their battle around the bottom of the track allowed Ballinger the space he needed to roll back around the outside to challenge for the lead. Ballinger was able nose Hardisty to the finish for his second win of the season. Hardisty, Garner, Rick Pitzer and Steve Churchill rounded out the top five.

Cody Werner grabbed the early lead of the NAPA hobby stock feature and held a comfortable lead for the first ten laps. Jim Tull worked out of the pack to take over the top spot and Werner retired with a flat tire. Tull went on to his third win of the season ahead of Brad Bergren, Les Helvie, David Weeda and Brad Derry. Ryan Vicker capped the night by winning the King of the Hill presented by Sunoco/Diamond Oil and Ironman Racing. Vicker scored wins over Cory Luther, Jim Tull and Matt Hudson to claim the title.
