Tuesdays with TMAC – Chris Spaulding Lays Down the Law!

(Bill W) May 17, 2011 – Sprint car driver, Terry McCarl, is pleased to announce his partnership with Chris Spaulding, an attorney in Des Moines, Iowa.  Chris will be a partner on the VerMeer Motorsports #55 team and with all the T-MAC Motorsports entries for the duration of 2011.

Terry has known Chris Spaulding for a number of years, and the two graduated high school together.  Chris Spaulding has practiced law in Des Moines for over 20 years.  He practices primarily in workers’ compensation and personal injury claims.  Although Chris’ law office is in Des Moines, he handles many cases all over the state of Iowa.  You can find more information on Chris Spaulding and his law firm, Berg, Rouse, Spaulding and Schmidt on his firm’s website: www.brsslaw.com!

TMAC is excited about the opportunities for the team, and for Chris.  “I’m happy to have Chris on board,” he says.  “He is a huge race fan and does a lot for the people of Marion County.  It’s a natural fit to have him on our team.  I think we can help him a lot and get his name out there.  I like when I feel we can get one of our sponsors business, and that’s the case with Chris.  He does a great job, and I feel comfortable sending people to him.  I believe in him.  He’s top-notch.”

The rain dampened most racing plans last weekend, including TMAC’s.  A trip to Jacksonville, Illinois to race with the Monster Energy™ Sprint Series was aborted, as was Saturday’s activities at the Knoxville Raceway.  Sunday, the family celebrated son Austin’s graduation party completing a week off from racing.

The upcoming weekend promises a fair amount of racing activity, however.  “Austin and I are both planning on racing at Rock Rapids in the open sprint car show on Friday,” says TMAC.  “I’ll be in the #55, and Austin will be in the #17A.  I love the shows and the track there.  I love the open shows with the open tires and open wings.  You just go and race without all the hassle.  We’ve had success there.  Of course, Austin got his first win there last year, and I was able to get one there too.  We’re looking forward to it.”

There are some 410 options around the Midwest this week.  “We don’t anticipate weather being a problem in Rock Rapids, but in the event it is, that show will be rescheduled for May 27,” says TMAC.  “If that were to happen, plan #2 is to go to the IRA show in Fountain City, Wisconsin.  That’s a really nice 3/8 mile track from what we hear.  They compare it to Deer Creek.”

TMAC laments not making Jacksonville last weekend, but it ended up being the right decision.  “We were definitely planning to go in the #55,” he says.  “We waited as long as we could, but the weather just looked too bad to justify that long a trip.  We really want to support the MOWA guys down there.  It reminds me of the Rock Rapids races in that there are some open rules.  That’s the way it should be.  The 410 sprints are picking up steam in the Midwest and we want to support all of it as much as we can!”

Of course, TMAC, Austin and Carson plan on running Saturday at the Knoxville Raceway.

Kosama of Altoona Back This Weekend!

With last weekend’s rainouts, Kosama of Altoona will join all three of the McCarl entries this week as well.  Look for Kosama of Altoona to adorn the VerMeer Motorsports #55, and the T-MAC Motorsports’ #17A and #97.

Kosama of Altoona is just the latest in a number of entities who are choosing to partner with T-MAC Motorsports on a nightly basis.  That makes for an affordable option in being a part of a sprint car team.  There are still nights available.  “We’re still doing the weekly sponsorships on the #24, Austin’s car and on Carson’s 305,” says TMAC.  “It’s a really good way to get your company out there, and it’s working for the companies who have come on board.  That’s the important part of it.”

For more info or for other pricing info in partnering on a weekly basis, please contact the T-MAC Motorsports office at (515)-957-0020 or e-mail tmacmotorsports@aol.com
