By:Tony Paris

BLOOMFIELD, IA. (Aug. 4, 2006) - The second ever apperance at the Mountian-Dew Bloomfield Speedway for the O`Reilly Auto Parts United States Modified Touring Series with Heartland Motrosports.Com sponsoring the racing action. In the Hougland Reapir Shop USRA Stock Car feature Jason Cook and Mike Robinson lead the field to the green for eighteen laps of exciting wheel-to-wheel action with Cook taking the early race lead with Robinson running a close second along with Pat Rachels,Zack VanderBeek and Scotty Pratt all mixing it up for the lead. The final three laps was a thriller with two and three wide raicng with Pratt and Jason Cook going door-to-door for the lead on the final lap with Pratt passing Cook coming off turn two but Cook battled back in turns three and four but Pratt took the topspot coming off turn four for the win. After post race inspection Pratt was disqualified and the win went to Jason Cook.

The Kollision Korner Hornet feature went ten laps with David Probasco leading the way till a flat right front tire ended his night and John Brown of Huntsville,Mo. took the lead and made his first apperance payoff taking the checkers.Dale Porter of Floris took second with Larry Hopkins taking third and John Garnet of Bloomfield taking fourth after starting ninth.

Kirkland Auto USRA Hobby Stock feature went fifteen laps with Ben Jones of Williamsburg taking back-to-back wins leading the final seven laps after passing Jim Walker of Mystic who lead the first eight laps before Jones took over and cruised to the win. Walker took second with a good battle for third going to Jim Sulser who passes Dustin Griffiths who finished fourth and Cory Brown taking fifth.

Kelly Shryock of Fertile, Iowa, captured his record-setting 11th consecutive O’Reilly Auto Parts United States Modified Touring Series main event Friday night at the Mountain Dew Bloomfield Speedway in Bloomfield, Iowa. The seven-time defending O’Reilly USMTS national champ pocketed $2,000 for the win. From the third starting spot, Al Hejna of Clear Lake, Iowa, jumped out to lead the first lap before outside front row starter Michael Long of Quincy, Ill., secured the top spot. Long paced the field for the next 8 laps before another Clear Lake driver, Dean Mahlstedt, gained control of the point. Mahlstedt's turn at the front of the field was short-lived, however, as Shryock grabbed the lead on lap 14 and proceeded to lead the final 16 laps for his 26th victory of the 2006 season. Too late to make a run at the leader, Jason Hughes of Colcord, Okla., slipped into the second spot while Mahlstedt hung on to finish third. Brad Pinkerton of New Sharon, Iowa, started 16th and passed a dozen competitors to finish fourth and earn the Olympic Fire Protection Hard Charger honors. Early leader Long rounded out the top five.
