McDANIEL TAKES ANOTHER WIN AT BLOOMFIELD SPEEDWAY

BLOOMFIELD, IA (August 15) - Racing action resumed at the Mountain-Dew Bloomfield Speedway after a break in the action for the pit-stop darning the week of sprint car racing in Southern Iowa. The night was sponsored by the Bloomfield Democrat, Tri county Grain and Pepsi-Cola and Mountain-Dew the Memphis Bottling Company.

A total of seventy-five cars in action in all five divisions with several new cars making the trip to the semi-banked clay oval at the Davis County Fairgrounds.

The first feature of the night was the Kollision Korner mini-stock feature with David Probasco taking the lead and leading all ten laps for his second straight win in the four cylinder division.

The Mikels Inc. USRA hobby stock feature started with a red flag for Nick Ulin of Agency who flipped on the backstretch but walked away under his own power. After the action resumed the battle for the lead saw two and three wide racing with Jason McDaniel taking his second straight and fifteenth of the season to help boost his chase for the national title. Jim Walker of Mystic took the second spot followed by Andy Coleman of Packwood in third and Tony Teninty of eldon in fourth after coming from the back after a flat tire.

The Bennett Racing Supplies USRA b-mods saw Mike Shelton of Bloomfield take his second career win. Jared Miller formerly of Bloomfield now from West Des Moines took a close second followed by Tyler Groenedyk of Oskaloosa in third and Mark Forrester of Columbia, Mo. In fourth his first ever visit to the speedway.

In the Pepsi-cola A-modified division Jim Lynch of Bloomfield take the win with Jeremy Townsend of Bloomfield make the pass on the final lap for the runner-up spot with Cody Townsend of Bloomfield in third and Beau Taylor of Canton, Mo. In fourth.
The final feature of the night was the Lee Construction and Taylor Automotive stock car feature with Toby Johnson taking the win holding of Mike Harward of Floris. This was a very special win for the driver of the #4 machine who hadn’t visited victory lane for several years and he proved he still has the drive. Harward took the second spot followed by Howard Gordon Jr. of Oskaloosa in third and Ben Jones of Williamsburg in fourth.

Next weeks racing action is sponsored by Stampede Graphics of Bloomfield and Golden Furrow Fertilizer with several locations in Southeast Iowa.

All five classes along with the Mid-America 305 Winged Sprint on the card with hot laps at 7:00PM and racing action at 7:30. With only two weeks remaining at the Mountain Dew Bloomfield Speedway the points battles are heating up and racing action is hotter than ever.
