INNOVATIVE SIGNS PRESENTS 2010 HAWKEYE DOWNS SPEEDWAY SEASON
OPENER THIS FRIDAY NIGHT
CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (April 26, 2010) - Hawkeye Downs Speedway will roar to life
for the 2010 racing season this Friday Night, April 30 as Innovative
Signs-“Your One Stop Sign Shop” -presents opening night action in the Papa
Johns Cup/I-Wireless Championship Series.
A full night of action is on tap with Performance Concepts Late Models,
Speed-e-Pan Sportsmen, Budweiser Modifieds, Barron Motor Supply IMCA Stock
Cars, Coca-Cola SportMods, Barron Motor Supply IMCA Hobby Stocks, and
Sunline Hornets taking to the track for their first points event of the
season.
The McGrath Powersports INEX Legends will also return to the quarter-mile
for the first of several appearances this season. Also on hand will be the
Throttle Aces Drifters, entertaining the fans with their unique style.
The Cedar Valley Street Rods will also have their cars on display outside
the Grandstand for fans to enjoy before the races.
Kids will want to visit the Lil’ Racers Car Club table to sign up for the
free club and see what activities are in store for them in 2010!
After the races, fans are invited to join Hawkeye Downs Racers and Officials
in the Tavern on the Mall with the live band Greenbrier providing
entertainment.
The Front Gate opens at 6pm with Hot Laps slated for 6:35 pm. Pre-Race
Ceremonies featuring the American Legion Color Guard will begin at 7:15pm
with the first race at 7:30pm (note new start time).
Adult admission is still just $10, Senior Citizens (62+) are $7, Students
over 12 are just $5, and new for 2010-College Students are just $5 with a
valid ID. Children 12 and Under are absolutely FREE!
