CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (March 29, 2011) - The first event of the 2011 Hawkeye Downs racing season is this Saturday with the annual Car Show, Media Day, and Test & Tune kicking off the season. From 10am-1pm race fans and the media can get a first look at some of the cars that will compete at Hawkeye Downs in 2011 as well as talk to drivers and crews. Weather permitting, the action moves to the track at 1:30pm with the first Test & Tune session of the season. Admission to both the Car Show and Test & Tune session are free. The first race of the 2011 Papa Johns Cup/ I-Wireless Championship Series is slated for April 22. Six big divisions will battle on the quarter-mile and half-mile asphalt ovals in 2011. Performance Concepts Late Models, Budweiser Modifieds, Coca-Cola Sportsmen, Barron Motor Supply Hobby Stocks, Sunline Hornets, and McGrath Powersports Legends will take to the track each Friday night in 2011.
