JR Motorsports adds Northern SportMods to IMCA contingency awards program

ANKENY, Iowa (May 3, 2006) JR Motorsports adds a sixth division to its IMCA contingency program in 2006, with awards to state champions in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod class.

Designated earlier this season by IMCA as official crate engine rebuilder for the Northern SportMods, JR will give $300 product certificates, good toward the purchase of a new Classic Series short block or complete engine freshen to the top driver in each state points race.

The Ankeny, Iowa, engine and chassis component manufacturer also returns as a sponsor for the Modified, Late Model, Sprint Car, Stock Car and Hobby Stock divisions.

"With the designation of JR Motorsports at the official crate engine rebuilder for the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, adding those champions to their program was a logical match," IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. "However, all Northern SportMod drivers stand to benefit regardless of their engine preference."

Late Model and Sprint Car track champions each receive $400 certificates, top Modified drivers in each state receive $300 certificates and Stock Car and Hobby Stock state champions each get $200 certificates, which can also be applied toward the purchase of a new JR Motor-sports-made short block or a complete engine freshen.

Total value of the JR Motorsports package is more than $17,000.
