Quad City Deery falls to rain; series to end with Pepsi USA Nationals

EAST MOLINE, Ill. (Sept. 10) – With tonight’s event at Quad City Speedway in East Moline officially rained out, the tour championship, as well as a $10,000 top prize, will be at stake when the Deery Brothers Summer Series travels to 34 Raceway next weekend.

The 20th annual tour for IMCA Sunoco Late Models wraps up with the 300th event in series history Friday and Saturday, Sept. 15-16 at West Burlington. Rob Toland of Bettendorf will take a three point advantage over Waterloo’s Jeff Aikey into the finale.

Friday’s program features the J&J Steel Ironman Challenge, pitting Deery drivers with perfect attendance throughout the season in a special $750 to win, minimum of $200 to start race. Hobby stocks are also on the card, in a $500 to win contest.

The Saturday show also sports IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars in a $500 to win event.

Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand at 5 p.m. both days, with hot laps at 6:30 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m. Friday admission is $10 for adults, $9 for seniors and students, and kids 10 and under are admitted free with a paid adult.On Saturday, admission is $15 for
adults, $13 for seniors and students, and kids 10 and under are admitted free with a paid adult. Pit passes are $25 each night.

The Quad City race was the fourth of 21 events on the original series schedule lost to rain this season.
