Earliest Jackpot Junction Tour opener scheduled with first-ever Kasson visit

KASSON, Minn. (Mar 21) – The earliest opening event in Jackpot Junction Tour history is scheduled for Sunday, April 27, when the series visits Kasson Speedway.

Also new to the IMCA KSE Racing Products Sprint Car series schedule are shows on Friday, May 9 at Jackson Speedway and on Wednesday, July
2 back at Kasson.

“When we originally announced our Jackpot dates last month, we were hoping to add at least two more events,” series director Bob Allen said. “I know drivers who have followed the series in previous seasons are already looking forward to our first-ever races at Kasson and I expect to see some first-time tour competitors there as well as at Jackson.”

Eleven events are on the updated schedule, the most since 1998. That season also saw the previous earliest opening night, on May 16 at Arlington Raceway.

Arlington and Redwood Speedway will each host three series events this year. Barring any rainouts, the 100th event in series history will be held Aug. 15 during the Jackson Nationals. The finale is set for Sept. 2 at Boone, Iowa, Speedway, during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals.

IMCA national and special series points are awarded at each race; events at Arlington, Jackson, Kasson and Redwood count toward Smiley’s Racing Products Minnesota state standings. Local track points are also be given for races at Arlington and Redwood.

The champion earns a $1,000 share of the $4,650 series point fund.
