Sunoco adds awards for Deery drivers to IMCA contingency program for 2010

LINWOOD, Pa. (Jan. 29) – An expanded awards program with IMCA sees Sunoco Race Fuels giving $4,000 in cash to Deery Brothers Summer Series competitors in 2010.

Drivers with perfect attendance and who qualify for the feature will be eligible for drawings for $250 at each Late Model tour event throughout the season.

Another $2,000 will be divided equally among drivers who compete at all series races.

"The expansion of this program to include our Late Model division is a testament to the dedication of Sunoco at the corporate level as well as through great distributors like Diamond Oil,” said Kevin Yoder, who doubles as IMCA’s marketing director and Deery Series director. “Sign-up details are being finalized but this new structure will pay cash to Late Model drivers participating at each Deery Brothers event with Sunoco race gas. Representatives from Sunoco will be on hand at series events to assist in verification and present awards."

The manufacturer of the official fuel of IMCA also returns this season as title sponsor of two divisions and will pay point funds for top 15 finishers in national point standings for both the Stock Car and Hobby Stock classes.

Total point fund for the Stocks is $5,000. The Hobby Stock point fund is $3,000.

Sunoco also returns as title sponsor of the Stock Car Race of Champions held during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals and will provide the $2,000 purse for that event.

"Supporting three IMCA divisions with cash and product through point funds and race purses really gives back to racers and we are proud to have extended our partnership with Sunoco Race Fuels through the 2012 racing season,” Yoder said. “This extension ensures Sunoco will celebrate 20 years as an IMCA sponsor and that dedication is both humbling and appreciated."
