HAWKEYE DIRT TOUR TOP 5 INVITED TO RACE AT KNOXVILLE RACEWAY
By: Jeff Werderman

CEDAR FALLS, IA (May 4) - Officials of the JR Motorsports Hawkeye Dirt Tour for IMCA Modfieids announced today a special honor for the top five finishers in the 2010 HDT Final Points Standings. The top five will be invited to compete at the famed Knoxville Raceway during the 7th annual Lucas Oil Knoxville Late Model Nationals September 30, 2010 through October 2, 2010.

In 2009, modifieds were added to the racing line up during Knoxville's Late Model Nationals. In 2010, the Late Model Nationals will once again feature modifieds on the racing card.

The modifieds will use an IMCA-based set of rules. The only way for a modified team to be eligible to compete is by invite only.

"We're very excited to be on that 'invite only' list," stated JR Motorsports Hawkeye Dirt Tour Director Bucky Doren. "It adds another reason for teams to follow the HDT all season long.

"We have to thank Bob Harris (of Bob Harris Enterprises) for working with Knoxville Raceway in helping get this done," Doren added. "Last year, Knoxville Raceway offered some very good money each night for the modifieds, and now our final Top 5 will get a chance to compete for that cash in 2010."

More details will be released soon on the modifieds involvement during the Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals.

The JR Motorsports Hawkeye Dirt Tour features IMCA Modifieds. THE HDT is sanctioned by IMCA offering IMCA Modified National, Regional, and State points for each race. Each event pays a minimum of $1,000 to win and is a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying event. The 2010 HDT Champion will also qualify for the 2011 Race of Champions events held during the IMCA Super Nationals.

The HDT will open their 2010 campaign on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the Independence Motor Speedway (Independence, IA). Hot Laps are set for 6:45 PM with racing to follow. On Monday, May 31, 2010 (Memorial Day), the HDT travels to I-35 Speedway (Mason City, IA). Hot Laps are scheduled for 6:00 PM and racing to follow.
