Deery Series headlines June 30 special at Independence

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (June 29) - The Deery Brothers Summer Series headlines the midweek special at Independence Motor Speedway Wednesday, June 30.

The eighth of 16 events on the 2010 IMCA Late Model tour schedule pays $2,000 to win and a minimum of $250 to start. Rounding out the evening's race card is IMCA's Great American Stock Car Series, which totes a $1,000 top prize.

Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and racing begins at 7 p.m.

Admission is $15 for adults and unaccompanied teens, and $13 for students ages 12-17. Kids 11 and under get in free when accompanying a paid adult

Hometown driver Curt Martin has won six of the 22 previous Deery feature races at Indee. Two-time winners there are Jeff Aikey of Waterloo, Gary Webb of Blue Grass and Terry Neal of Ely.
