Dakota Track Side doubles sponsorship role backing Classic Modified, Stock Car tours

MINOT, N.D. (Feb. 9) – Two of the most popular tours on the 2011 IMCA schedule will run under the Dakota Track Side banner.

The Minot, N.D., high performance parts retailer and fuel supplier becomes title sponsor of the July 10-15 Classic Modified Tour, providing a portion of the $2,000 point fund for top 10 drivers. Dakota Track Side also returns for a fourth season as sponsor of the accompanying Stock Car series, which totes a $1,000 point fund.

A record-smashing 2010 tour saw 120 different Modified drivers and 36 different Stock Car drivers compete at venues in North Dakota and Saskatchewan. Nightly car count averages neared 70 for the Modifieds and topped 18 for the Stocks.

"The opportunity for a title role in the Modified tour became available and Dakota Track Side has been patiently waiting for the chance to become more involved,” IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. “The geographical pairing makes sense for both tours and Dakota Track Side will be very visible at all events."

Drivers in each division must display two Dakota Track Side decals on their race car to be eligible for shares of their respective point funds.

Dakota Track Side will also give $50 product certificates at 15 designated special events, including the June 27-29 World Products Great American Stock Car Series.

Those races are at Buena Vista Raceway, Marshalltown Speedway and Independence Motor Speedway.

The Dakota Classic Modified Tour champion becomes eligible to qualify for the Harris Auto Racing Race of Champions during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals. The Dakota Classic Stock Car Tour and Great American Stock Car Series champions will race for starting spots in the Sunoco Race Fuels Race of Champions.

Information about Dakota Track Side products is available by calling 800 467-2842 and at the www.dakotatrackside.com website.

"The gift certificates complement a program that both IMCA and DTS are very excited about,” said Yoder. “The Tour continues to grow in both divisions and having identical schedules this year will bring added consistency to each night's program. It should be another outstanding series of events in 2011."
