Lee County postpones Smackdown to May 27

DONNELLSON, Iowa (April 15) – Inclement weather gets the blame for postponement of Lee County Speedway’s Smackdown.

Originally planned for tonight, the minimum $2,000 to win IMCA Modified special will now kick off the Memorial Day Weekend on Friday, May 27. IMCA national, ButlerBuilt North Central Region and Allstar Performance State, but no local track points, will be awarded.

Lap money of $35 will be paid to the leader and $10 to the second running driver on each of the 30 circuits. Pre-entries of $50 will now be accepted until May 20; entry fee for Modifieds after that date is $75.

The Modified feature is a qualifying event for the 2011 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Support divisions are to be announced.

Pit gates and the grandstand will open at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 7 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults, $11 for seniors, $5 for students ages 11-17 and 10 and un­der get in free. Pit passes are $25.
