Beatrice renews IMCA Sunoco Stock Car sanction

BEATRICE, Neb. (Dec. 16) – IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars are back on Friday night programs at Beatrice Speedway beginning next season.

“They are a natural fit with other area tracks that have the class. The time is right to bring them back,” explained promoter Toby Kruse. “Most importantly, the interest in this division is there from racers. That definitely helped make the decision to sanction easier.”

IMCA Stock Cars ran at Beatrice from 2001-2006. They’ll replace a local factory stock class.

Four other sanctioned classes return in 2012 to Beatrice: IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts.

Beatrice starts the season with its traditional Spring Nationals special on Friday and Saturday, March 16-17.

The local track point season runs from April 20 to Aug. 24.

Beatrice is in IMCA’s ButlerBuilt Central Region for Modifieds and Probe Industries Northern Regions for Stock Cars and for Hobby Stocks

Points earned in all five sanctioned divisions at Beatrice count toward IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing national championships.`
