Henry, Waterman, Crampton and Parrish New Winners at Quad City Speedway
by Ed Potter

EAST MOLINE, Il. (May 28, 2006) - It was a great night for racing Sunday at Quad City Speedway and the crowd got to see four new winners by the time the night was over. It took eight cautions to complete the Street Stock feature, but that wasn't about to slow Rob Henry down. Henry came from his fourth place starting spot to lead flag to flag for his first win of the year. From lap six on he had to hold off the challenges of the Spicers, as Toby Spicer ran second and Dustin Spicer third. after being involved in a fourth lap caution, Rick Schriner battled back to take the fourth spot with Buck Harmening fifth. Henry, Dave Wadsager and Jeff Stevens were the heat winners.

B Modified second heat winner, Jake Waterman came from his third place starting spot to lead the feataure flag to flag for his first Quad City Speedway victory this year. After being involved in a first lap caution young Mitch Morris had worked his way back up to second by lap twelve. Morris worked the bottom of the track in an effort to get to Waterman, but had to settle for second. Craig Crawford was third with Jason Pershy fourth and Greg Durbin fifth. Brad Pershy won the other heat.

Mike Zemo Jr. led the first lap of the Open Wheel Modified feature, but then the race's only caution flew. On the restart Jeff Morris took over the point with Doug Crampton in tow. As the two of them ran with Morris on the bottom and Crampton working the top side Crampton kept inching closer and closer. On the white flag lap Crampton took over the lead and went on for his first victory of the year. Morris was a very close second with Zemo third. Brandon Durbin was fourth with Jim Willert rounding out the top five. Daron Oberbroeckling and Morris took the heat wins.

The IMCA Late Model feature alson had only one caution, but nothing was going to slow down front row starter, Jason Parrish. Parrish took the lead on the drop of athe green and led all twenty-five laps to take his first ever feature win. Which by the way he did in his rookie season in the very tough IMCA Late Model division. Parrish held off some pretty tough competition as Ron Gustaf took second and Kevin Blum third. Rick Wages fought a hard abattle to take fourth win Eric Gustaf fifth. The heat wins went to Blum, Hershel Roberts and Bob Miller
