KIDS NIGHT PLUS MODIFIED SPECIAL $750 TO WIN

MACON, IL (May 22) - Kids will be the stars on Saturday night, May 24 when Macon hosts Kids Night featuring Tramph the Clown. Kids will start working on cars during the Kids Club meeting and will complete the projects next Kids Club meeting on June 21 in time to race during intermission for the annual box car races. Macon Speedway will host the Boy and Girl Scouts this Saturday. They will kick off the day by having a pinewood derby at 1:00 PM, every child is invited to participate in the fun. All boy and Girl Scout parents will be admitted into the night’s race for ½ price. Tramph the Clown will be on hand to add to the fun.

The Barbeck Modified racers will be geared up for a special $750 to win purse. Come out and see if last week’s winner, Randy Myers can hold off Danny Smith, Marty Hiser and the other super fast Modifieds to claim two wins in a row.

On Saturday, May 24, gates at Macon Speedway will open at 5:00 PM. Late Model qualifying starts at 7:00. Kids Club meets this Saturday at 6:00 PM. General Admission is $10.00 for weekly races at Macon Speedway. Children 12 and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Pit admission is $25. Weekly racing at Macon Speedway features five UMP sanctioned divisions: Late Model, Modified, Sportsman, Street Stock and Hornet. New for 2008 is the addition of the Amateur Hornet division.

Monday, May 26: NASCAR Stars Ken Schrader, Kevin Harvick, Kenny Wallace and Fan Favorite Kenny Wallace will be at Macon Speedway. All seats are reserved. Adults are $25, children 12 and under $5. Gates open at 3:00 PM. An autograph session takes place from 4:30 to 5:30 PM on a first-come, first-serve basis. Racing starts at 6:30 PM.

June 1 is the 1st time ever the Tri- Track Challenge will come to Macon Speedway offering a top prize of $6000 to win for the Northern Allstar Late Model showdown. The Tri Track Challenge is held in three days in three states. The first event is held at Paducah International Raceway, Paducah, KY on May 30. The second leg of the Challenge will take place at I-55 Raceway, Pevely, MO. Rounding out the Challenge the racers will end at Macon Speedway with a chance to win $10,000 if one racer can win two out of the three races.

June 7 is the Lite Beer Twin-50’s featuring two a 50 Lap feature for the Chevrolet UMP Late Models and the Barbeck Modifieds. Also don’t miss Tony Stewart’s #20 Home Depot Show Car.
