Dale Munson wins the Modified feature at Peoria Speedway

PEORIA, IL (May 24) - Winning was the second most important thing to Tim
Lance at Peoria Speedway on Saturday night. What took precedence? His
daughter, and a pool party. "My daughter was at a neighborhood swimming
party, so I went there to spend some time with my family in between the heat
race and the feature," said Lance, who won the Late Model feature for the
second week in a row. Roger Rebholz, who finished second, and had what was
his fastest car of the season, probably wished Lance would have stayed in
the pool. He was right on Lance’s back-left quarter-panel much of the race,
but three late cautions did Rebholz a disservice because Lance was so good
on the restarts. "He was pretty strong," Lance said of Rebholz. "I tried to
run through the middle of the track, but he had a nice run going up top."
Dale Munson won the Modified feature, battling Matt Dillon for most of the
race.
Dillon sat on the pole and led the first 14 laps of the feature until a flat
tire forced him to the pits on a late caution. "If (Dillon) hadn’t gone to
the pits I was going right back to the top (of the track) again," Munson
said. "He was probably not going to come off the bottom."
Scott Schoenner and Bob Simpson raced to the line in the Street Stocks, with
Schoenner getting the victory."It went flat on the last lap when the other
car ran into me," said Schoenner of a flat tire caused when he and Simpson
touched on the final straightaway.
Brad Willis Jr. bested dad Brad Willis Sr. for the Sportsman win and Zac
Kuhel won his second Hornet feature.
