MACON SPEEDWAY THIS WEEK –FASTER PASTOR, MIDWEST BIG TEN SERIES AND DEAR OL’ DAD CELEBRATION

MACON, IL (June 12)  - Macon Speedway welcomes area Pastors and Dad’s this week to take in an exciting night of racing action on the fast 1/5 mile oval. Area pastors will take to the track in 4-cyl Hornet cars racing for the distinction of “Faster Pastor”. Special admission pricing is available for congregations and youth groups coming out to Macon Speedway to support their pastor. Call 764-3000 to make arrangements for your church group and pastor. Macon Speedway will also be honoring Fathers by taking time out to honor our Dads with some special prize drawings.

Also this week at Macon Speedway, we will host another addition of the Midwest Big Ten Series. Morgan County Speedway has teamed up with Macon Speedway. Each track will host 5 races for the Late Model division drivers to try and accumulate points. Each of the ten races will include larger winnings to the winner of the feature. At the end of the season the points each driver has accumulated in those 10 races will be totaled and there will be $10,000 distributed throughout the top ten Late Models with the top point fund winner taking home another $3,000! Kyle Logue leads the points standings with 176 points, just edging out Cory Daugherty with 158 points.


Gates open at 5:00 PM on Saturday, June 14 and the Chevrolet Late Models will qualify at 7:00 PM. Admission is $10 with children 12 and under admitted free with an adult.

Weekly racing at Macon Speedway features five UMP sanctioned divisions: Chevrolet Late Model, Barbeck Communications Modified, Hogan Grain/Kubota Sportsman, Street Stock and Hornet. New for 2008 is the addition of the Amateur Hornet division.

June 21 is Miles Chevrolet Night featuring a driver autograph session with our local Macon Speedway drivers; Kids Box Car races and a special street stock race paying the street stock division winner $400 to win.

June 28 is 95Q Night at Macon Speedway featuring the Firecracker 40’s featuring a 40 lap feature for our Chevrolet Late Model and Barbeck Communication Modified divisions, also don’t miss our fireworks display.

July 30 is Night of NASCAR Stars III at Macon Speedway featuring an appearance by NASCAR Star Tony Stewart plus others. Reserve seats are on sale now by calling 217-764-3000 or 217-764-3200.
