UMP Summernationals Set to Invade Macon Speedway

MACON, IL (July 1) - Race fans will be treated to a special UMP Late Model event at the Macon Speedway this Thursday night with the running of the Herald & Review 100. This event will mark stop 19 in the 27 date Summernationals Late Model tour. The Summernationals tour pays over three-quarters of a million dollars in prize money with Thursday night’s winner taking home $6000 for their win. The UMP Summernationals tour has quickly become one of the most anticipated dirt Late Model tours in the nation that attracts talented drivers like Dennis Erb, Randy Korte, Rodney Melvin, Darren Miller and Don O’Neal. Last year’s winner of the Macon Speedway Summernationals was Wes Steidenger of Fairbury, IL. In addition to the exciting late model action, the Barbeck UMP Modifieds will hit the track fighting for their $600 race win.

Next up at Macon Speedway will be Hickory River-Cromwell Group ½ price fan appreciation night where tickets to Macon Speedway will be $5 for adults and kids 12 & under are free. Coming up at Macon Speedway on July 12 will be Skeff Distributing night with a special race for the Street Stocks. Then on Friday July 18 don’t miss the POWRi midgets/Dana Godfrey Memorial as the midgets come back to invade Macon Speedway. Saturday, July 19 we will host the Christmas in July/Christmas for Kids Toy drive and another Midwest Big Ten Series race. Don’t miss your chance to see Tony Stewart at Macon Speedway on July 30, 2008 for our Caterpillar Night of NASCAR Stars III. Our Night of NASCAR Stars I has been rescheduled to August 19, we have plenty of good seats still available by calling our office at 217-764-3000.

Tickets for the Herald & Review Summernationals can be purchased at the gate for $20 for Adults, $5 kids 6-12, kids 5 and under are free. Pit gates open at 4pm; Grandstands open at 5pm with the racing action starting at 7pm.
