MACON SPEEDWAY DOUBLE HEADER HUGE MONEY WEEKEND!!


MACON, IL (August 11) -  Macon Speedway will be hosting this two day event this coming weekend Friday, August 15 and Saturday, August 16. Come out to Macon Speedway on August 15 for an action packed night of racing featuring the POWRi Midget Car Series brought to you by Burdick Plumbing. The tickets are $15 for adults kids 12 & under are free. Then, come back to the track on Saturday night to watch the Northern Allstars light up Macon Speedway for the 2008 Herald & Review 100. Kids 12 & under will be $5 on August 16 with adult admission $20. With the two events Macon Speedway expects large fields of cars both nights, so don’t miss this huge two-day event of fun family entertainment.

Macon Speedway will kick off the double header weekend with Burdick Plumbing night on August 15 with the POWRi Midgets and Micros plus the UMP Barbeck Communications Modified division. The special Friday night show will be the first in a huge open wheel weekend. Saturday, August 16 the USAC Silver Crown cars will travel to the Illinois State Fairgrounds to compete in the Tony Bettenhausen 100. Come out and see all of the Midget stars as they battle the fastest 1/5 mile dirt track in the country. Grandstands will open at 5 pm.

Up next in the double header is the Herald & Review 100 where Late Models from around the Midwest will be coming to get their chance to take home $10,000. The Late Model that takes the checkered flag will win $6,000 and if he has raced at Macon Speedway 10 times before this race they will take home an additional bonus of $4,000 making their nights winnings total $10,000! Saturday night’s race will also be a Midwest Big Ten Series race. Don’t miss the UMP Barbeck Communications Modifieds tearing up the track to take home an increased prize of $600 for the winner. The UMP Street Stocks will also be on the night’s race card. Grandstands will open at 5 pm: with Late Models qualifying at 7 pm.

Tickets are on sale now for the August 19 & September 3 Nights of Nascar Stars, adults are $25 and children 12 & under are $5. Gates will open at 3 pm with autograph sessions taking place from 4:30 – 5:30 pm. Racing will begin at 6:30 pm.
