HUGE WEEKEND AT THE QUAD CITY RACEWAY

EAST MOLINE, IL (Sept. 17) - All eyes will be on the Quad City Raceway this weekend with a jammed backed racing schedule. The 2nd Annual Quad City Raceway Hall of Fame Classic will feature $4,000 to win IMCA Late Models, Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders, UMP Modifieds $600 to win Saturday and the 15th Annual Reinhart Memorial $2000 to win UMP Modifieds Sunday night, as well as UMP Street Stocks, and UMP 4 Cylinders.

The weekend will get underway with an open practice on Friday night, September 19th. All classes are welcome and pit passes will be $20 with the grandstand being free to the public. The pits on Friday night will open at 5:00pm and practice will be from 6:00pm to 8:30pm.

Saturday night, September 20th, will see the return of the Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders to the Quad City Raceway with the Tribute to Kevin Doty. The late Kevin Doty was a Quad City native that was a 2 time MARA champion, a Badger champion, winner of the Hut 100 and Pepsi 50. He will also be inducted into the National Midget Hall of Fame this year. These full size winged sprint cars put on an outstanding show last season. Also racing will be the IMCA Late Models as they will be running time trials and heat races qualifying for the $4,000 to win 100 lap feature race Sunday night. The UMP Modifieds will also be running a full $600 to win program. The pits will open at 3:00pm, grandstands at 4:00pm, and IMCA Late Model time trials at 6:00pm on Saturday. Admission on Saturday night will be $15 for Adults, $5 for kids 6 to 12, and kids 5 and under are free.

Sunday, September 21st, will be a race fan’s dream. The day will get started with the Quad City Raceway Hall of Fame Ceremony. Six drivers and one contributor were voted in by the fans and drivers and the Class of 2008 is drivers Jerry Reinhart, Donald “Terry” Ryan, Shane Davis, Ernie Speth, Dean Montgomery, and Jim Gerber. The contributor is Doyle Bennett.

The ceremony will begin at 3:00pm. Racing Sunday night will be the IMCA Late Model consolation races and a 100 lap feature paying $4,000 to the winner. Due to heavy rains last weekend the 15th Annual Reinhart Memorial Race will be ran Sunday night paying $2,000 to the win and $500 to start the UMP Modified feature. Also racing will be the UMP Street Stocks paying $250 win and the UMP 4 Cylinders paying $125 to win. The pits and grandstands will open at 2:00pm, Hall of Fame at 3:00pm, and racing at 6:00pm. Admission for Sunday will be $20 for Adults, $5 for kids 6 to 12, and kids 5 and under are free.
