76 Race Cars Practice, Practice, Practice at Macon Speedway

MACON, IL (April 1, 2010) - Seventy-six of Macon Speedway’s finest drivers took full advantage of a four hour practice session on Wednesday evening March 31st under perfect racing conditions. The fifth mile dirt oval was in great condition due to the hard work of the speedway staff and the addition of a huge amount of dirt over the winter.

“The track was in good condition but we still have a few soft spots after the addition of dirt and a great deal of rain over the winter”, said speedway owner Bob Sargent. “We’ll work the track even more to get ready for the annual Spring Fling this Saturday. Everything is on go for this weekend and we’re looking for a great opening night”.

Racers from the UMP Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks, Sportsman, Pro Hornets, Amateur Hornets and Micro Sprints got ample track time as they dialed in their cars for the 2010 season. Opening night is this Saturday, April 3rd as defending Champions Kyle Logue-Late Models, Dave Crawley Jr.-Modifieds, Rick Roedel-Sportsman, Blake Shelley-Street Stocks, Joe Reed-Pro Hornets and Sam McCoy-Amateur Hornets begin their defense of their 2009 track titles.
