Neal Takes QCS Opener
Ed Potter

EAST MOLINE, IL (May 1, 2011) - After two weeks of weather interfering with the racing program at the Quad City Speedway with, good field of cars on hand the opening night finally happened.  Fifth place starter, Terry Neal took the lead of the Sexton Ford IMCA Late Model feature from Mike Zemo Jr on lap twelve.  Zemo fought back and would have led lap thirteen, but the caution flew for a car in the turn one wall.  Later in the race Zemo and Mike Garland tangled in turn one leaving Garland on his top and retiring both cars.  Neal went on to claim the win with Adam Oppendike second and Shawn Mulvany third.  Matt Ryan came from seventeenth to claim fourth with Ray Guss Jr fifth.

Affordable Parking Lots A Modified action saw Ryan Dolan lead flag to flag for the win.  Dolan was followed by Brandon Durbin, John Bull, Donovan Lodge and Doug Crampton in that order.

Rob Henry took the lead of the Extreme Auto Glass Street Stock Feature on the drop of the green and never looked back as he went on for the checkers.  Cary Brown came from seventh to take second with Chuck Fox third, Rick Schriner fourth and Chris Lawrence fifth.

Jake Waterman led the Verplaetse Excavating IMCA Modified feature until the last lap.  On a last lap charge Thad Wilson took the victory with Waterman a close second and Mitch Morris a close third.  Craig Crawford was fourth with Milo Veloz Jr fifth.

Wade Dahl was another flag to flag winner as he led the Aaron’s Affordable Towing 4 Cylinder feature all the way to the win.  Brent Perry was second followed by Dustin Forbes, Brandon Dahl and Dale Tucker, in that order.
