July 3 date at Quincy next for Deery Brothers Summer Series

QUINCY, Ill. (July 1) – Quincy Raceway gets a jump on the holiday celebration, hosting the Sun­day, July 3 Deery Brothers Summer Series event for IMCA Late Models.

Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods make their Illinois debut and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars are also on the Titan Wheel & Tire special card. The Deery feature pays $2,000 to win and a mini­mum of $250 to start. 

Pit gates open at 3 p.m., the grandstand opens at 4:30 p.m., hot laps are at 5:45 p.m. and racing starts at 6:30 p.m. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and $10 for students. Kids 10 and under get in free. 

Eleven different drivers have won Deery features at Quincy, the most recent of them hometown hotshoe Matt Bailey on April 10.

Another local, and three-time series champion, Mark Burgtorf is a nine-time winner at Quincy while Rob Toland has won four times and Jeff Aikey, Boone McLaughlin and Denny Woodworth twice each.

Point leader Andy Eckrich is the only repeat winner through the first seven events of the silver anniversary series. Joining Bailey with one win each are Brian Harris, Matt Ryan, Mike Murphy and Aikey.

Deery drivers are back in action next Thursday, July 7, at West Liberty, Iowa, Raceway.
