Hull slides Smith for night three win

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (July 29, 2011) – For the second straight night of Illinois Sprint Week action, the dash winner had to settle for second place in the feature this time during the stop at Jacksonville Speedway.

Danny Smith won his heat and the dash, and led most of the feature event until a one lap dash following a caution on the final lap.

Jerrod Hull used a slide job in turns one and two of the green/white flag lap to take the lead, it stuck and led the final half of lap to get the feature win. Smith would settle for second.

Chris Windom, in only his third night ever in a winged car, passed Smith early in the feature to lead briefly, before Smith found his way back around. Windom held on to finish third.

Dustin Morgan made a charge through the field and was working on a top three finish before getting into the wall bringing out the late caution that set up Hull’s slider for the win.
