Rained out Indee Open rescheduled for August 2

INDEPENDENCE, IA (July 24, 2006) - The Indee Open Series event that was rained out last Wednesday, July 19, has been rescheduled for Wednesday, August 2, at Independence Motor Speedway.

Originally scheduled as part of the 2006 Buchanan County Fair, the event is now planned as part of a double-header with the first of the two events to be held at Highway 3 Raceway in Allison on Tuesday, August 1.

The event in Allison will feature Indee Open Series late models and modifieds, along with stock cars, hobby stocks and B modifieds. For this event, the stock cars will run a 3,000 Lbs. weight rule, however no weight rule will be in effect for the hobby stocks. Gates for the August 1 event will open at 5 p.m. with hot laps scheduled for 6:30 and the first green flag set to fly at 7.

The following night, August 2, Indee Series late models, modifieds and stock cars will be on-hand in Independence. Gates will open at 4 p.m. with hot laps set for 6:30 and the first race to go green at 7.

The 2006 Indee Open Series will conclude on Saturday, September 2, at Independence Motor Speedway. Late models, modifieds, stock cars, hobby stocks and B modifieds are scheduled to compete. Gates for that event will open at 3 p.m. with hot laps set for 5 and the first race set to go green at 5:30.
