Independence Motor Speedway celebrates Back-to-School Night on August 19

INDEPENDENCE, IA. (August 7, 2006) - Kids looking for one last night of fun before hitting the books will have their chance during Back-to-School Night on August 19 at Independence Motor Speedway. Omega Cabinets and Target Distribution Center will be sponsoring the event.

Reduced kids' ticket prices and many giveaways, including many bicycles, are planned for the special event. Anyone interested in donating a bicycle to be awarded to one of the young ticketholders may do so by contacting race director Dick Frye at dfrye@fbx.com or (319) 334-0378.

The August 19 event is the final night of weekly racing before the August 26 season championships. I.M.C.A.-sanctioned late models, modifieds, stock cars and hobby stocks, along with unsanctioned B modifieds will be competing. Gates open at 4 p.m. with hot laps scheduled for 6 and the first green flag set to fly at 6:30.
